I'm Ali Philbrick β a nonprofit operations leader in Los Angeles with 10+ years of experience making education accessible for every kid, from East Harlem to Cusco, Peru. π
I believe every child deserves access to quality education β regardless of zip code, income level, or background. That belief has driven my entire career across nonprofits, charter schools, and international programs.
As Director of Operations at Learn To Be, I help power a platform that has connected thousands of under-resourced students with free, 1-on-1 online tutoring since 2012. Before that, I managed international education programs across Latin America, supported charter schools in East Harlem, and coached girls through sports-based life skills in Cusco, Peru β where I fell in love with the Andes, Peruvian culture, and pickup volleyball games at altitude. ποΈ
When I'm not building systems and scaling programs, you'll find me on the volleyball court β it's my favorite way to recharge and stay competitive off the clock. I'm fluent in the language of systems-building, cross-cultural collaboration, and getting things done with heart.
A decade of building programs, leading teams, and creating opportunity across borders.
Behind every metric is a student who got the help they needed.
A toolkit shaped by years of real-world nonprofit leadership.
Building scalable processes, managing cross-functional teams, and keeping complex organizations running smoothly.
Designing and managing education programs across borders, cultures, and time zones with safety at the forefront.
Cultivating community relationships, managing stakeholders, and building coalitions that amplify impact.
From Salesforce integrations to volunteer trainings β planning, executing, and iterating on complex initiatives.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) with deep experience navigating diverse cultural contexts across the Americas.
A decade dedicated to removing barriers and creating pathways for underserved students to thrive.
Education is the great equalizer. Access shouldn't depend on where you're born.
From the Andes to East Harlem β understanding the world makes us better at serving our own communities.
The best operations are built on empathy, not just efficiency.
Defend against the volleyball invasion! A Cusco-inspired Space Invaders game. Can you spike them all?
Whether it's a conversation about education equity, nonprofit operations, or your next mission-driven project β I'd love to connect.
